Seamless Pattern Maker: Repeat Patterns, Digital Paper and Fabric Designs in Your Browser
Repeat any motif into a seamless pattern — grid, half-drop, brick, mirror or scatter — on paper or fabric sizes. Export a 300 DPI PDF, PNG or seamless tile.
Digital paper, fabric prints, gift wrap, scrapbook pages and print-on-demand products all start with the same thing: one motif, repeated perfectly. Pattern Studio, part of Compressify by MultiProductX, does the repeating for you. Upload a motif, choose a repeat style and a paper or fabric size, and download a print-ready file — all in your browser, with nothing uploaded to a server. We are constantly developing and updating our tool to stay ahead of the competition, seamlessly adapt to the latest platform requirements, save you valuable time in production, and completely eliminate technical complexities and frustrating design issues.
Five repeat styles
- Straight grid (block repeat) — the classic, clean layout
- Half-drop — every other column drops by half a motif, the favourite of fabric designers.
- Brick — every other row shifts by half, like a brick wall[
- Mirror — motifs flipped like a kaleidoscope
- Scatter — a random, natural look[
Control the motif size (longest side), the space between motifs and the size variety, so small and big motifs mix. Set every other motif to stay the same, turn 180°, turn 90° or flip, or let Scatter rotate them at random. Not happy with the layout? Press Shuffle.
Any paper or fabric size
- Paper: A4, US Letter, A3, Tabloid (11 × 17 in), 8.5 × 8.5 in square[.
- Scrapbook / digital paper: 12 × 12 in
- Fabric: fat quarter (18 × 22 in) and 1 yard (42 × 36 in or 56 × 36 in)
- Any custom size, in portrait or landscape, in inches or centimeters
Mix up to 40 motifs
Add up to 40 PNG or JPG motifs in one pattern and choose how they alternate: in turn (balanced, along the diagonal), in order, or at random. If a motif has a white or plain background, Pattern Studio removes it — including the white gaps inside the design, such as the inside of a handle or the space between petals. A PNG with a transparent background gives the cleanest result.
Letter and number patterns in many languages
Pattern Studio can build a pattern from letters and numbers instead of pictures. That is perfect for nursery prints, alphabet fabric, classroom decor and kids' wrapping paper.
- Sets: A–Z, a–z, 0–9, Arabic, Persian, Cyrillic, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Thai, Japanese hiragana, Korean, Chinese numbers — or your own letters and words
- About 50 fonts: modern and script Latin fonts, Arabic calligraphy such as Ruqaa and Kufi, and fonts for Cyrillic, Greek, Hebrew, Devanagari, Bengali, Tamil, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Georgian, Armenian, Ethiopic and Vietnamese
- Color styles: metallic gold, silver, copper, bronze/brass and lead grey, turquoise, turquoise & gold, royal colors, a rainbow for kids, or one color — with an optional white outline
Change the color, style or font at any time and the letters update by themselves.
Move each piece by hand
Automatic layouts are fast, but sometimes one motif sits in the wrong place. Click any letter or motif on the preview and drag it. Pull the ■ corner to make it bigger or smaller, and turn the ● dot to rotate it. You can change, remove or reset any single piece, or undo all hand changes at once.[cite: 19]
Backgrounds and a safe cutting margin
Choose a transparent, black, white or colored background, or use your own background image (fill the page, show the whole image, or repeat it).
The safe / cutting margin keeps every motif whole inside the edge, so nothing gets cut at the seams. A red band on the preview shows where your design will be trimmed, and you can print the cutting line on the file.
Export for print and print-on-demand
- Seamless tile (PNG) — the repeating block for fabric and print-on-demand sites
- Page PNG at 300 DPI — ready to sell as digital paper
- Print-ready PDF — for home or shop printing
Undo and redo work on every change
Mode 2: print a big pattern on several sheets
Pattern Studio also prints a large design at true scale — a sewing pattern, for example. Print it on one big sheet (an A0 copy shop or a plotter), or tile it on home paper such as A4 or Letter. The tool adds overlap, glue lines, sheet labels, alignment marks, an assembly map and a scale test square, so you can check the size before you cut.

FAQ
- Can I sell the patterns I make? The tool makes the file; the rights depend on your motifs. Use your own artwork or motifs you are licensed to sell.
- What is a half-drop repeat? Every other column moves down by half a motif. It hides the grid and looks more natural on fabric[cite: 19].
- Are my images uploaded? No. Everything runs in your browser[.
- Is it free? You get 25 free uses to start, then 10 every month. PRO is $9.99 per month for unlimited use of every tool.
